Praise for Eyes Shut

Eyes Shut is a science fiction time travel novel with a
really unique time element. Robyn's future events are through
dreams instead of complicated machinery. The mind, it turns out, is far more effective. Kae's ability to write
spectacular settings that are immersive, from the enormous Ariake Coliseum with its crowd noise while players alternate rallies, to a halfway house where the scent of sanded wood permeates the page. Readers who enjoy speculative fiction with a more metaphysical nod will absolutely love this book. Very highly recommended.

A thought-provoking read with empathetic characters and big questions about agency and choice.

Cecilia writes with real sensitivity and precision, capturing both intimate emotional shifts and the texture of place so vividly that the story feels fully alive on the page. A thoughtful, immersive, and emotionally intelligent read.

Singapore forms the backdrop of the story, but this is a markedly grittier version of the city-state than the polished image often presented. The heartland settings illuminate the everyday struggles and realities of lower-income communities, revealing a fascinating and seldom-explored side of the nation.
